This week, we covered how Google said the old Search Console may sunset in March and specifically which features are going away. Some European Google searchers were seeing empty snippets this week. Google said big changes are coming to image search and SEOs and webmasters should get ready. Google said the last 50% of mobile-first indexing switches will be their hardest. Google said disavowing bad links can help Google’s algorithms trust your site more. Google’s URL inspection tool can work on even sites you do not have verified access to. Google knows when domain names change ownership. A Penguin poll shows SEOs are confused about its status. Google’s John Mueller believes SEOs focus too much on links. Google said there is no time frame for when an algorithm will impact your site. Google said they are aware of the complaints around sensationalist headlines in Google’s top stories. Google’s knowledge panel main graphics now supports videos. Google has a bug where searchers can see mixed language search results. Google My Business has a new sign up process for service area businesses. Google Posts allow anchor text links for verified authors. Google plans to host more in person meet ups around the world but not for SEOs. That was this past week in search at the Search Engine Roundtable.
