This may be super obvious, but sometimes the most obvious stuff is not as obvious as you’d like. Content pulled from an API or data feed is technically copied content. Now, that doesn’t mean content from an API won’t rank in Google, but you need to figure out a way to make the content you pull from an API different from the content that your competitors pull from the same API.
John Mueller of Google said it simply on Twitter:
Well, it IS copied content, right?

Again, it doesn’t mean your site won’t rank for this content. It is more about how you use the content on the page and how unique it is across Google’s index.
