It has been a while since we mentioned the Google HTTPS ranking boost that launched in August 2014. But John Mueller mentioned maybe on new item around it saying that this ranking boost has nothing to do with any specific industry. Of course, that is probably obvious to most of you guys out there but someone asked the question and I thought it was interesting that someone would think that the HTTPS ranking boost would only be valid for some industries and not others.
John said on Twitter “It’s [the Google HTTPS ranking boost] a very subtle ranking change, per-URL, not related to specific industries.”

Just so you know, there hasn’t been any real changes to this ranking boost since it launched and it is highly doubtful Google will change it in the future.
