Google My Business FAQs & Feedback On Agency Dashboard

As you know, Google has launched a new agency dashboard for Google My Business users who manage a lot of business profiles within Google My Business. The early feedback has been pretty negative thus far around the new agency dashboard. But Google has chimed in, posting on Twitter and Google My Business Help forums “thanks for sharing feedback on our new Organization accounts! While we actively work on it, check out some quick FAQs for clarification.”

Supposedly, Google is hearing about the issues local agencies are having with the new dashboard and they are working on making improvements.

Here is the FAQ they posted in the forums:

Q: Does the person granting access downshift to manager?

A: Yes. This is true for both the Agency Dashboard as well as the regular Google My Business dashboard. We recommend that agencies request manager access, or have the business owner add the agency account directly to their listing using the Location Group ID, found in your ‘Location Group Details’. This access level should provide an agency with all of the capabilities they need, including permission to move listings between Location Groups in an organization account.

Q: I heard the business dashboard on Google search disappears when I move my listings into an organization account. Is that true?

A: No, the business dashboard continues to appear on Google with no changes for listings in organization accounts.

Q: Will AdWords be able to sync and retrieve locations from under an Organization account?

A: Yes. This is currently not supported but we are actively working on a fix and will have a resolution over the next few weeks.

Q: Requesting access to my client’s listings isn’t working! What can I do?

A: For those of you who are having trouble requesting access to a client’s listing from a location group within your organization, an alternate way of achieving this is to have the current listing owner add the Org Accounts Location Group ID to the listing as an owner or manager instead. They can do this by following the steps outlined below over here.
