Google may be testing showing a blue shield icon in the snippets for some government related sites. I am honestly thinking this might be some sort of browser extension but it may not be and it may be a feature Google is testing. This was shared by Michael Postorino on Twitter and said he was using a private Safari browser, so no extensions.
Here is a screen shot of an IRS snippet in Google with the added blue shield line in the snippet:
I have seen examples of this happening on Chrome with certain browser extensions over the years but this is happening for Michael on Safari on an iPhone. So I am not sure if that is even possible on Safari on iPhone. So maybe, just maybe Google is testing this feature?
