As you know, the new Google Search Console beta is in the works and Google actually admitted to it the other day. Yesterday, Simon asked John Mueller of Google if the new beta will have data changes. John Mueller basically admitted saying there may be changes with “slightly different data” and “the amount of data.”
So we should expect that the way Google reports on some of the data in the Google Search Console may change. Which happens and has happened several times. But more importantly, it looks like we are getting more data.
John said this in a video hangout yesterday at the 42 minute mark. The question was asked by Simon who said:
The new social console coming out are their big data changes in it. Are gonna be a larger volume of data being looked at. Or is it really mainly UI type of stuff? Do you know?
John hesitated and then responded saying:
I guess a bit of both. I mean I don’t want to pre-announce anything but I know they’ve been looking into like slightly different data, the amount of data something that has been commonly requested so.
We know Google renewed their efforts to give more historical data in the Google Search Console. So maybe, just maybe, with this release it will happen.
Google has been talking about giving webmasters more data since 2013 and over the years has hinted it many times.
But with this new release, it might just happen?
Here is the video embed:
When will that release happen? I have no idea.
