Google Updates The How Search Works Site

Google noted in their project Owl announcement that they also updated their How Google Search Works site. The site was first introduced in March 2013 and had some content and feature revisions over the years.

It now has been totally redesigned and a lot of the content has been removed or hidden in other places.

You can actually still access this directly via this URL while it lasts. But I don’t see to access this old content easily via the new site home page.

As Gary Illyes said on Twitter, they refreshed the site, but the site itself is not new.

When they first introduced it, they had a way to see examples of pages removed from the search results because of spam. So I built an index of those pages and then got slapped from Google for doing so. Can you blame me? Anyway – the good old days.
