Google Search Console Datasets Schema Enhancements Report A Year Later

Over a year after Google launched the ability for dataset schema to show up in the Google search results, Google has added reporting around it in Google Search Console. The new datasets schema report is now in the enhancements section for sites that have deployed this schema.

Google announced this on Twitter saying “We are happy to let you know that we’re making a new structured data report available in Search Console: Datasets. If you have it enabled in your account, you’ll find it under the Enhancements sections.” “In order to be eligible to appear in results on Dataset Search, you’ll need to implement Dataset structured data in your site (note that while the implementation is a requirement, it is not a guarantee that the site will be featured),” Google added.

Here is a screen shot of the report (click to enlarge):

You can see this report shows you errors with your datasets schema, including schema that is valid but has warnings and also how many valid objects you have.

Google launched Dataset Search a year ago, but was playing with this back in 2016.
