Daily Search Forum Recap: May 27, 2019

Here is a recap of what happened in the search forums today, through the eyes of the Search Engine Roundtable and other search forums on the web.

Search Engine Roundtable Stories:

  • Google Fixed The Indexing Issue Again & Again
Google has confirmed yesterday that they fixed the indexing issue that started Thursday night with Google indexing new content. It is a similar issue from the day prior to that where Google stopped indexing new fresh content as well. Both are now supposedly fixed and fully resolved.
  • Google AdSense Ads Not Displaying – Widespread Complaints
I am seeing widespread complaints over the past 24 hours or so from the Google AdSense community that their ads are not appearing on publisher web sites. There are many threads in the Google AdSense Help forums with this issue but one big one that sums it all up.
  • SEOs Enjoying Google’s Favicon Mobile Search Results Interface
As you know, Google has started rolling out the new interface for the mobile search results that include the favicons at the top of the snippets. Most SEOs feel that this redesign once again makes the ads look more like the organic free results. So SEOs are now having fun with their favicons.
  • Google To Produce More Q&A SEO Videos #AskGoogleWebmasters
John Mueller from Google posted on Twitter that he will be creating more Q&A videos around SEO and webmaster related questions with Google search. He said you can submit your not site-specific questions to him via Twitter using the hashtag #AskGoogleWebmasters. Submit those questions there and he will compile them and answer what he can in those short form Q&A videos.
  • LinkedIn Says They Got Hit By A Google Algorithm Update In February 2017
It is incredibly rare for a public company to admit they got hit by an algorithmic update by Google search. But Eun-Ji Noh, the data scientist in LinkedIn’s SEO department shared at SMX London that they did indeed get hit by the update and how they recovered.
  • Google Really Honors Memorial Day For The First Time
After years and years of doing absolutely nothing on the Google home page for Memorial Day or maybe just placing a simple US flag and ribbon lower down on the home page, Google has gone all out for Memorial Day this year.
  • Google Rainbow Staircases
Here is a photo from the Google Dublin office I found on Instagram. It shows one of the staircases all light up and bright in a neon rainbow array of colors.
