Google Really Honors Memorial Day For The First Time

After years and years of doing absolutely nothing on the Google home page for Memorial Day or maybe just placing a simple US flag and ribbon lower down on the home page, Google has gone all out for Memorial Day this year. Heck, Google even wrote a blog post about the meaning of the day.

If you visit Google.com in the US you will see a gray Google logo and a US flag and mention below – that links to that blog post. The logo links to the search results for the keyword phrase [memorial day].

Here is a screen shot of the Google home page on Memorial Day:

When you click on the Google logo, Google even dressed up the search results page with the US colors:

At 3pm today this is how the Google home page will react. This U.S. Memorial Day 2019, join us in remembering service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Observe the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. local time by listening to Taps directly on the Google desktop homepage.
