- Google Link Penalty Can Remove Rich Snippets/Results
Google has said they can issue a rich snippets or results manual action, removing the ability for the site from showing rich results in the Google listings. But do other penalties, like link penalties, also result in removal of rich snippets? It appears that may be the case. - Google: IP Addresses Don’t Matter For Backlinks & Search Rankings
Google’s John Mueller responded “nope” when asked if IP addresses matter for backlinks and search rankings. Like does it matter if some of your links to your US site come from Australia? Stuff like that. - Google My Business Cards In Google Maps Results
Google Maps is showing some people a card asking them to to take charge of their listings in Google My Business. Google is showing a “go to Google My Business” card where you can post updates and information about your business, directly in the Google Maps search result listings. - Bing App Doppelganger Camera Feature
I am not sure if this is new, but Bing posted on Twitter that the Bing app lets you take a selfie, a picture of yourself, and it will find a celebrity that looks like you. I tried it myself and I came up for myself, even though I am not a celebrity. - Google My Business Personal Account Migration To Organizational Account Tool
Google has posted a new help document that walks you through the process of migrating your Google My Business listings from a personal account to an organization account. Kara from Google wrote in the Google My Business Help thread “When we launched the agency dashboard in June, some agencies struggled to smoothly migrate listings to organization accounts. Thanks to that feedback, we’ve now launched a new tool to help streamline the process of transferring listings to organization accounts!” - Google Hardware Store
Google is testing Google Hardware Stores across New York City and Chicago now. These seem a bit different than the pop up stores they have been doing, although Google is also calling them pop up stor
