Google’s John Mueller said on Twitter that Google doesn’t look at the number of slashes, i.e. /, you have in a URL for search purposes. John said “We don’t count slashes in a URL.” He added that you should “use what makes sense for you, giving yourself room to grow in the future without having to change all URLs.”
This is in response to a question that asked John Mueller if Google cares about how many slashes you have in the URL. Well, kind of, the question wasn’t exactly that. Here is the context:
We don’t count slashes in a URL – use what makes sense for you, giving yourself room to grow in the future without having to change all URLs.

We covered the topic of folder directories and how many is too much and if it really matters or not many times. But the slashes in the URL concept, we did not cover.
Google did post about trailing slashes and search before.
