Google Removes References To PageRank & 200 Signals In Disavow Help Doc

Several months ago, the disavow backlinks help document in Google’s help center mentioned a section about PageRank and how PageRank is one of 200 signals Google uses for rankings. That help document was updated sometime in the past several months and removed both those references.

Before it said:

PageRank is Google’s opinion of the importance of a page based on the incoming links from other sites. (PageRank is an important signal, but it’s one of more than 200 that we use to determine relevancy.) In general, a link from a site is regarded as a vote for the quality of your site.

Now there is no mention at all to any of this in that document.

The document itself was significantly updated, so it might not mean anything. If you think about it, it probably makes sense to remove those references from the document anyway.

This was spotted by Farabi on Twitter:

Should we read into this or? Let me know.
