Yesterday, as we covered, Google posted helpful information around how, when and why Google shows dates in the search results snippets.
They provided best practices and tips. But Danny Sullivan of Google came in later to explain they didn’t simply post this without the intent that they want to do better with these snippets. Danny posted on Twitter after some complaints from SEOs that the dates aren’t 100% correct all the time, “Suffice to say, we didn’t do a fresh post with guidance without the intent of wanting to improve.”
Suffice to say, we didn’t do a fresh post with guidance without the intent of wanting to improve. I’m sure @JohnMu will pass along any fresh examples or if you post in the forum and flag me, I’ll pass that on as well.

So if you spot issues with dates in the search result snippets, do as Danny suggested. Send examples of them to John Mueller and/or create a post in the forums and share it will Danny and John.
