I am seeing signs both within the search community and from the automated tracking tools of an update with Google’s search results going on right now. The interesting thing is about 50% of the tools are reporting on the algorithm update and the other are not. Maybe Google is doing a 50/50 test on a new algorithm? Maybe it is mobile, but I don’t think it is mobile specific.
Of course, Google is always doing updates but this one is bigger than the daily fluctuations. We covered the bigger Google updates here and it has been a long time since Google confirmed an update for us.
In any event, here are some comments from the WebmasterWorld forums:
Tech and traffic down from UK, India while USA is looking good
Overall traffic, including US, has been down all week. Halloween (Tuesday) was by far the worst, but Monday and Wednesday were also down.
I can confirm that our US traffic has been up yesterday and today
I’m coming up to half a Googleday yet my PVs are 10% of yesterday, it’s more like a very dead Sunday!
